FAQ’s – AHRA 2025

At present, we aim to have 90-min standard sessions for up to 4 papers (each paper will be allocated a 20-min slot, but please time your presentation for approx. 17 mins to allow for change over time too), plus discussion (10 minutes). Some sessions may have fewer papers, in which case more time will be available for discussion.
Open sessions are standard paper presentation sessions (with some time for discussion). They are simply sessions that had not been advertised as part of the Call for Papers but instead respond to the overall conference theme and three strands. We await confirmation from all speakers before we finalise titles for open sessions.
As conference organisers we do not expect speakers to submit any additional material (e.g. draft papers) before the conference. However, individual session leads may wish to run their sessions in a different way, in which case speakers in those sessions will receive alternative instructions directly from their session leads.

AHRA conferences are traditionally followed by two publications: an edited volume and a journal issue. Not all presented papers are automatically included. A selection follows the conference based on synergies across papers so as to serve best the production of coherent publications.

Registration includes admission to all conference sessions, light lunch, refreshments (3 days)
The conference does not organise accommodation but we will make travel recommendations available.
Early bird registration (closing 17 October, 23:59 Western European Time):
- Standard: £180
- Students, PGRs, independent researchers, unemployed: £90
Standard registration (from 18 October, 00:00 Western European Time):
- Standard: £210
- Students, PGRs, independent researchers, unemployed: £105
For multiple-author papers, all persons joining a session will need to register for the conference, even if participation is remotely (in hybrid sessions). Colleagues who are named as contributors to the paper but do not participate in the conference will not need to register.
