Renascence
The results of the preliminary investigation found that the original reservoir has a superior geographical position, located at the highest place and in the centre of the city. The residential areas are arranged around the building, so it is foreseeable that the utilization rate will be high after the building is completed. The advantages of vertical terrain and the function of connecting cities horizontally, I chose to position this project as a landmark building.
At the same time, I also investigated the local social situation and found that the local economy has been in a slump since the economic depression, the unemployment rate is very high, and a large number of residents moved out of the city. Therefore, I hope that this building can provide more employment opportunities for local residents, and even set up entrepreneurial areas to encourage local residents to re-employment. I hope this building is not only a landmark building, but also can promote the development of the local economy.
I need to solve the following problems:
-let more people know about local history
-regeneration of abandoned reservoirs
-reemployment
-drive economic growth
Therefore, I want to name my building after Renascence.
Renascence means that fragmentation and establishment coexist. Broken walls bring new opportunities to the building, introducing more attractive facades and new layouts while maintaining some of the old walls. A small community is formed inside the building, integrating learning, work and entertainment, and providing residents with more convenient services and more reemployment opportunities.
