The design project is to design a hotel on an existing heritage structure whose main customers are mountaineers and tourists, and hope that the hotel will attract visitors to the local heritage culture.
The main concept of this design is the comparison of the materials used. Emphasize the historical sense of slate during the day with the timber-cladding, glazing wall, while responding to the existing slate wall with lightweight hanging slate tile. At night through the light-through glass and light-impervious slate to emphasize the lightness of the newly added structure.
The layout is designed in a symmetrical way to create a more interesting and concise circulation to provide a good hotel experience for the guests. The green public spaces on both sides of the glass roof sing out the privacy of the customer and provide plenty of activity space and light. This hotel can also be made more visible at night.
