Liverpool Film School
The brief asks us to design a film school in Liverpool by the Liverpool & Leeds canal. The site has very good landscaping views and opportunities. Located on the corner so ideal to create an iconic building. The project wants us to create a film school based on university standards. The design strategies must be carefully designed. There could be a couple of separations like; administrative, technical, public, and private. Film school must include a film studio exhibition area, classes, and offices. Delivery and carparking is also another important part.
I always inspire from the organic shapes and for this project I followed the angles which is that created by site then with the support of 3D mass modelling I have created the Film Angle. The site has a parallel organisation which is based on previous maps and the railway is the main angle over the site. So, I have took that angle and improved my plan through it. I have tried to keep connecting to the canal in each part of the building. Including the landscaping is increases the quality of area. For materiality, aluminium rainscreen panels represent my design better also has a large variety of colour option. To pick the colour of my building I have created a colour palette of site, so I wanted to link to the site through the colour theme.
