BA3 2019/20
Housing was a common theme in Studio during the 2019/20 academic year. There was Co-living in the Georgian Quarter; the reinterpretation of below-plinth space by the London Housing studio; and housing in Mossley Hill and alongside the Leeds-Liverpool canal in North Liverpool in response to live agendas. Two studios visited housing estates in Berlin and Venice in pursuit of their respective interests.
There was also a strong thread of Liverpool–based projects and collaborations. This included a visitor centre for the Anglican Cathedral, an Arts Hub for the Knowledge Quarter and a Film School in response to a recognised need for local skills in the city. There were collaborations with Liverpool City Council and also a Community group in north Liverpool as well as two exhibitions of Semester 1 work by two studios.
