Gradients of Electric Mountain are dramatic/iconic — here parts to the architecture pay tribute to its shape, directing an axis paroral to the mountain surface with views towards Dolbadarn Castle. Clusters of slate remnants are equally followed with a scatter placement approach, as though what is new was born from what is old. Architecture reveals rather than conceals any ballads from the past here, materials are used for their inherit properties rather than any preconceived aesthetic. The place becomes the aesthetic, and each structure acknowledges its deference to it — as the shingles weather in salt fog over time and rust leaks into the concrete, it is a slightly different experience each time you visit. These volumes feel timeless and write a second chapter for the Anglesey Barracks.
