Confluence of Communities
The feelings of loneliness and isolation have increased during the digital era; for young people it is all they know. The project explores how architecture can reinstate the feeling of community as well as integrate locals with visitors in order to bring people from different backgrounds together. The building aims to encourage gatherings and create spaces in which residents and visitors can coexist. The youth centre creates a dialogue between a very formal Berkley Street and a residential area that both neighbour the site.
