The “Playground” is located at the top of Huyton High Street, and paired with Semester One’s Project, creates a “Tip to Top” Scheme. The Scheme is focussed on reactivating a street that is otherwise massively underused, bringing a level of playfulness and fun to what was a rundown area. A playful environment is injected throughout the building and its facilities and provides a safe and comfortable environment for residents for sharing, caring, learning and joy.
The ”Playground” is located in the existing building on Cavendish Walk, maintaining the majority of the existing building fabric and this was a key design driver. The design materialises in the permeable mesh façade wrapped around the existing building and showcases play across the High Street elevation.
