“This project was my year 3 semester 2 design and involved the creation of a museum in Frankfurt as an extension to the preexisting Weltkulturen museum.
My focus on this project was the preservation of valuable trees on the site and the continuity of the park space within the area, I created a semi outdoor area with small terrarium like structures for the trees, making an exhibition out of the nature itself.
This area could be publicly accessed and created a large flexible space that was naturally lit and ventilated.
I used a variety of materials on this project, glass to create a lightweight central space, concrete which allowed wide spans between structure and brick to give the exhibition spaces a controlled and enclosed feeling in contrast to much of the rest of the building.”
