This proposal seeks to develop the site as a heritage training and interpretation centre where people will learn about and experience the rich cultural heritage of Buddusò, Bitti and surrounding areas through interpretive exhibits, experiences and training in the following subjects:

  1. Granite Construction from Neolithic Settlements to modern day;
  2. Cultural Celebrations specifically regarding the ritualistic properties of Sardinian local festivals;
  3. Agricultural and Food Making Practices teaching guests traditional and new experimental foods using the widely versatile product of grains.

The aim is for Eridità 8:8 to act as a catalyst for further social and economic growth for the area, marking it’s place on the map for the things that make the area uniquely beautiful and it’s inhabitants proud; encouraging tourism, job creation and re-inhabitation of rural Sardinia.

In order to respect and incorporate the heritage of the site itself and Budduso on a wider context two things were taken into a deeper consideration:

  1. The history of the site itself, it’s previous purpose and use and the visible construction details that highlight it’s past use and changes and how we might use these to influence new changes and uses, and;
  2. The religious processional routes in Budduso which link to their cultural celebrations, highlighting the different stages and ritualistic connotations  of they’re festivals. Upon analyzing these elements a metaphorical journey through the site is created and physical areas to host the continuation of these celebrations are provided.
