What is your current role title? Principal

I arrived in 1960 and graduated in 1965, going on to do an MCD in 1966. I joined BDP in Manchester straight from school and became an Associate in 1970 whilst working on the Halifax Building Society HQ, now Grade II listed. I became a partner in 1977 and moved to London in 1986. I became chairman of the London Office and then of the whole firm. I received a CBE in 2001 for my work on industry reform as well as leading the largest UK practice. Major personal works include the London JP Morgan HQ, Opel Cars HQ in Germany and the Wimbledon Tennis masterplan of 1992-2012. I was Master of the Architects Company of the City of London in 2005-6, upon retiring from BDP. Since then I have had a portfolio of consultancies and no-executive director roles. I currently specialise in helping clients to use digital information engagement,
