Luca and Camilla are delighted to be joined by two student interns from the University of Liverpool School of Architecture, Byan and Sophie. Both were recruited because their enthusiasm for landscape architecture, public engagement and communication make them an asset to the team. Byan and Sophie are going to help develop content for the project’s HistoryPin site, developing copy and sourcing images, all of which will make it a really dynamic and interesting online archive.
Byan said: ‘I am a second-year BA architecture student at the university of Liverpool. I have only started learning about urban studies and landscape and found myself drawn to the dynamic combination of artistry and functionality, allowing the engagement in the creative process of designing and transforming outdoor spaces while providing an opportunity to positively impact people’s lives by creating aesthetically pleasing and sustainable environments that enhance quality of life and foster a connection with nature. I am excited to work with “Women of the Welfare Landscape” because it allows to delve into a fascinating research project that focuses on revealing and celebrating the important yet often overlooked contributions of women in shaping the landscape architecture.’
Sophie said:‘ I’m a second year architecture student at the University of Liverpool and I’ll be involved in the communications and public facing activities of the project. I’m really looking forward to working on the project as I’m passionate about landscape architecture and love designing green spaces in my studio projects. In the future I hope to specialise in sustainability.‘
