“The slow decline of the British High Street has been well documented. They once were the centre of communal and social life, often featuring a pub, a post office, a greengrocer and a butcher etc.”
This culture center is aimed at linking Williamson Square via music, which follows the trial to adapt culture as the key to the flourish of High Street.
The two semester’s works, along with the existed musical facilities nearby, wish to create a ”Sound City” music cultural zone in Liverpool downtown area, just like the successful ”Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City” waterfront cultural zone did.
Personally speaking, as a follower of Scepticism arhcitectural philosophy, I tried to create more connections and more spontaneous interaction chances in these designs. I also think that maybe architecture is more than just collage of examples, so I always try to seek for unique solutions and different possibilities.

Sound City cultural center can bring together surrounding musical destinations to create a downtown music area, just like the famous waterfront ferry area in Liverpool.
