Children innately gravitate towards the street as a form of recreation. ‘Play Street’ forms a route through the site, internalising the street and providing a safe, permeable and flexible space for children to enjoy. Its unspecialised, central crevice allows freedom to play. The proposal simultaneously connects the urban block via a semi-public route through connecting the residential and public realms, promoting social sustainability and inclusivity. Ultimately, Play Street celebrates children’s freedom to play and have fun.
