The Institute of Prismatics… glass that will blow you away!

The project centres around glass-blowing, and how a community can unite within a mixed-use area, in the Fabric District, celebrating glass art in Liverpool. The focus on coloured glass can be explored through the diagrid which acts as the core to the adjacent buildings. This flood of colour provides an energetic, creative, tranquil atmosphere that radiates throughout the whole building. The scheme is comprised of a production space, which ultimately connects the gallery, studios, teaching and office spaces, and dining together. The gallery is the home for glass artists in Liverpool to present their work to the public, so they become inspired before attending a glass-blowing workshop. Enhancing the creativity of glass art in a diverse community is the main aim of ‘The Institute of Prismatics’.
