Art Avenue is a pioneering arts college in Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter, designed to inspire creativity across diverse disciplines.
The college features a central atrium, known as “the avenue”, serving as a vibrant hub for exhibitions and student interactions. Transparent studio spaces and workshops line this atrium, creating a lively, interconnected environment where activities within are visible to all, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
The building’s design prioritises natural light, using alternating tall concrete and curtain wall panels oriented north for optimal illumination, creating an angular and dynamic exterior façade. The studio spaces offer double-height ceilings, with viewing platforms to watch the activity below, forming an expansive creative space. Cantilevered edges provide stunning views of the nearby Falkner Square and surrounding greenery.
