L8 Youth Sanctuary
Located in the Liverpool 8 district, L8 Youth Sanctuary aims to develop Liverpool’s youth in a safe environment that encourages curiosity and innovation through the arts and sports. With Liverpool 8 being home to various cultures, L8 Youth Sanctuary recognises the importance of accessibility and inclusivity. As a result of cultural groups experiencing discrimination in L8 historically during the Toxteth riots, and currently, the project took on the name of the sanctuary as it seeks to concentrate on the importance of mental health.
Living in a post-pandemic world, mental health has hit an all time low, especially amongst the youth where it has affected their ability to make social connections, as well as limiting their ability to move during isolation. L8 youth sanctuary seeks to act as a cultural hub to develop these young minds to their true potential.
